Lenin is a well-known editor, writer and director in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films. He is the son of film maker, editor and director A. Bhimsingh. Lenin made his debut as an editor with J. Mahendran’s Uthiripookkal and has so far worked in over hundred films in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and an English film, Eli My Friend.
He has won National Film Award for Best Direction for the Tamil film Ooruku Nooruper in 2002 and National Film Award for Best Editing for the Tamil film Kadhalan along with V. T. Vijayan in 1995. He was the Chairman of the Oscar Selection Committee of India at 2011.
