The year of 2007 has been the year of fresh talents entry. Out of 190 films launched maximum are newcomers. To the list of newcomers and women directors in Karnataka adds actress Ashwini.
Ashwini with a certificate at Captures Film and Technical Training Institute came to film field with the intention of becoming a director. But she was offered the role in 'Dark' an experimental movie. She then signed 'Varasdhara' and '3ne Class Manja B.Com Bhagya' came automatically for her. Before this she did the profile at Star Creators. The ambition in her to become a director was persisting very much.
Now she has completed all the three assignments intends to bid a temporary good bye to acting and take up direction in the beginning of 2008. Ashwini daughter of former councilor Munibasappa is busy in finalizing the script for her maiden direction.
Ashwini now joins the team of women directors like M.V.Rajamma, Prema Karanth, Kavitha Lankesh, Aruna Raje Urs, Poornima Mohan and Vijayalakshmi Singh.
Whether she is going to act in the film she is directing? I would like to sail in two boats she says with a wide smile on her face.
Veteran actresses Thara, Vinayaprasad and Shruthi have also expressed their intention of taking up direction recently.
