The controversial film 'Moggina Manasu' after rejected by the Bangalore Regional Censor Board approached the Tribunal in New Delhi and come out with U/A certificate. Taking into consideration the arguments of the regional officer and the views of the people of Karnataka as projected by the regional officer ' the Tribunal is of the view that the film 'Moggina Manasu' can be granted 'UA' certificate instead of 'A' certificate because the theme is beneficial for the teenagers in particular the girls says the Tribunal order copy.
Quite content with 'UA' certificate from Tribunal producer Krishnappa throws a challenge at this stage. The five percent of the media say that it deserved 'A' certificate as claimed by Regional Censor Board he is ready to take any punishment. In the last three months the struggle he faced and his preoccupation with the recent elections producer of 'Mungaru Male' fame Krishnappa has lost Rs.40 lakhs. Three months ago before going to regional censor he had booked the 40 theatres all over Karnataka. The chaos he faced in regional certification committee made him to postpone the film. In the process he had to pay one week rent of all theatres for prior booking.
According to director Shashank of 'Moggina Manasu' the certificate for the film should have been 'M' ' meaning mandatory. The 16 to 18 age group boys and girls have a strong message in this film. The targeted audience is that of teenagers. The purpose is defeated when the regional censor board certified it as 'A' certificate says the director. We had to approach the Tribunal. Supporting his stand director Shashank says the regional censor board without analyzing the film within a fraction of second offered only 'A' certificate and there was no chance for the argument. The Tribunal that watched the film did not do so. They took one week time and understanding the pros and cons offered 'UA' certificate recalls Shashank.
'Moggina Manasu' is now set for release on 17th of this month.
