Young producer P.Madhan of Escape Artists Motion Pictures has he is involved in the production of four marquee films that are the most anticipated to hit the screens in the upcoming months of the year.
Dhanush's 'Kodi' and 'Enai Nokki Paayum Thota', Silambarasan's 'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada' and Selvaraghavan's 'Nenja Marappathillai'. Out of these four films, director-producer Gautam Menon has been involved as a producer in Two and director and producer in one.
'Kodi' has been officially confirmed to hit the screens for Deepavali while the other three are yet to fix the release date.
In his exclusive interview with the special Red Carpet show of IndiaGlitz, Madhan spoke about the completion status and release plans and also the box office prospects of three films under his kitty.
'Kodi'
'Kodi' is in its post production stage and Santhosh will start the re-recording work very soon. We are ahead of schedule. We will complete the film as well as the Censor process well ahead of the festival. Escape has a good name among distributors and theatre owners and we are confident of getting a good number of screens. For any Dhanush starrer a minimum of 350-400 screens is required to do justice for his presence in it.
The teaser of the film is almost ready. We are waiting for the release of 'Thodari' which is slated to hit the screens on September 16. As a producer, I am not okay with releasing a film's teaser when the same actor's another film is yet to release. They will also be not happy with it. That's why we are waiting.
'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada'
AYM distribution rights has been sold to Ayngaran. We have to decide whether we going to release it through distributor or sell it based on MG after watching the film. Everybody is very excited. Simbu has watched the film with his friends and he is very happy with the outcome.
It can compete with any movie. Gautham and I are discussing the release date. I gave him two options September 30 or October 7. Since many movies are targeting October 7, it will be ideal to release the film on September 30. Unlike the past, release date plays a major role.
On 30th no movie release has been planned so far. On September 23 two movies releasing. After October 7th no prominent movie release till Diwali. If the film is good it will easily get one month of theatrical run in a good number of screens.
Nenjam Marappadhillai
It will be a dark horse from Selvaraghavan. It will be an all class hit like 'Pichaikkaran'. it will be profitable to every distributor and theatre owner. Selva has done the film in a highly compact budget. That is the film’s biggest strength.
Actual my plan is to release on Sept 30. Since too many movies are scheduled to release in the next week, I also have a second plan of releasing the film two weeks after Diwali. But if any movie opts out of the race, 'Nenjam Marappathillai' may hit the screens on Sept 30.
