The film released after so much of delays and uncertainties. Till the last minute of release the makers were facing struggles and negotiations were conducted till few hours before the film hit the screens. But all these pains and toils has paid off well when the end product achieves the desired result.
This is what has exactly happened to director Gautham Menon's romance-action flick 'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada'. After getting a fantastic opening across the state, the film has more than retained its momentum in the second week as well as weekend also that too at this time of currency crunch and people struggling for liquid cash due to the Indian Government's tough attack black money.
As far as Chennai Box office is concerned, 'AYM' has achieved 90% occupancy in its second weekend which is really phenomenal. With 287 shows screened across 22 theaters in the city, the film has collected around Rs.89 lakhs (Rs.88,68,540) it in second weekend.
On its first day of release the film has collected Rs.65 lakhs which is the biggest for a Silamabrasan starrer. At the close of its first weekend the film's collections had crossed Rs.2 crores in Chennai alone.
Now the total collections made by this A.R.Rahman musical has surpassed the whopping Rs.4 crore mark in Chennai. The film has collected Rs.4,34,29,220 since it release date (November 11) to Sunday last (November 20).
With this the film has been declared a 'HIt' by the trade and also the highest grosser for Simbu in Chennai.
