These days barren plots and old blocks are given into newer buildings like shopping complexes or residential flats. Even our very own AVM studio is no exemption to this rule.
The floor is as famous as the company itself. It is a shooting floor located in the renowned AVM studio. It was popularly known as 'Samsaram Athu Minsaram' floor after the famous national award winning film 'Samsaram Athu Minsaram' directed by Visu. The place has now been demolished and a shopping complex is rapidly taking shape at that spot. A famous textile shop in T Nagar will open an outlet here.
Thank god some of the shopping population will take diversion to AVM studios!
Likewise, an apartment will be built in the vacant space behind the old Vinayakar temple in the AVM studio premises.
Usually we can casually walk into any studio in Chennai at our will, but not into AVM. One has to sign the register before entering. There are also some restrictions to foreign tourists. But, with the advent of shopping complex as well as the residential apartment, this rule will be relaxed and anyone can enter AVM without any restriction.
