“God looked down on his paradise and said I need a caretaker. They are the Farmer” Though Tamil audience loves to see a film that is built with Love, Action, Sentiment and comedy, they also have a very special respect towards Social - Responsibility movies too.
Director Mainkandan’s ‘Kakka Muttai’ is a best example for that. While his ‘Kutramey Dhandanai’ and ‘Aandavan Kattalai’ are ready to hit the screens soon, Director Manikandan has announced his next project ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ which is going to roll from the end of this year.
Produced by ‘Eros International Media Ltd’, the film ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ has a 70 year old Man in the lead role and the entire team is in search for the apt character. It is also to be noted that well known familiar faces in Tamil cinema are roped in to play the pivotal roles.
“It is really sad to know that Cola factories and corporate industries are playing hide and seek in each and every farmer’s life. Farmer suicides are most rampant in India. They are the starting point of our entire food chain but the occupation in itself is on the verge of becoming obsolete.
When Manikandan narrated "Kadaisi Vivasayi" to us, we knew that the film will hit the right chords with all audiences, regardless of any age, gender or class. The film is also in line with our strategy of backing content oriented films which will also be a commercial treat for the audience. The story of ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ revolves around the life of a 70 year old farmer who does not understand the legal rules, laws and procedures …As a layman, how he comes out of the whole issue will be the rest of ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’. The only human being who works for our hunger is... Farmer. We completely dedicate this ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ film to all the real heroes (farmers)…”
“After Lingaa and Kochadaiyaan, our upcoming lineup is equally powerful and diverse. We have signed Directors like Venkat Prabhu, Prabhu Solomon, Manikandan and debut Directors Bharat Krishnamachari and Suresh Sangaiah who also depict an innovative school of thought through their scripts, thereby showcasing our range of experienced directors as well as debut directors” says Sagar Sadhwani of ‘Eros International Media Ltd’.
