A Superstar Rajinikanth’s film caters to all age group from 6 to 60. His films generally get certified with the ‘U’, a certificate that grants unrestricted public exhibition.
In fact, not many know which was the last Rajini film that was certified other than the ‘U’. It’s been 25 years, Thalapathi (1991) was certified with U/A and since then all Rajini starrers have got nothing but ‘U’ certificates from CBFC. With Kabali also getting ‘U’ the streak looks to be unbreakable.
In today’s trade scenario, it is almost a necessity that big budget films get certified with ‘U’ as it also gives them an option to get the much need tax exemption from the state government.
