Ilayathalapathy Vijay, whose ‘Theri’ was released last week, has been doing a record breaking business at Box Office, across the world. Amidst the grand release, the Atlee directorial did not get released in most of the theaters in Chengalpet distribution area.
Disputes aside, Kalaippuli S.Thanu, the producer of ‘Theri’ has addressed the media to explain trade status and controversies around the film. Thanu has revealed that all the distributors and theater owners are happy with the collection of ‘Theri’ and the Vijay starrer has been doing extraordinary business, worldwide.
Speaking about Chengalpet issue, the veteran producer revealed that the exhibitors in that particular zone aren’t even ready to pay the MG (Minimum Guarantee) and they are doing all these they are doing all these things having mislead by a a person with a personal motive to spoil the fortunes of a Vijay film.
Thanu also stated that having seen the success of 'Theri' many theater owners in the area are regretting their decision to not screen the film. He further apologized to the Vijay fans who belong to Chengalpet area as they could not watch the film in their area theaters and clarified that that the distributors of that sub-urban locality are the reason for not releasing ‘Theri’.
