Ever since actor Karan started playing hero in films he has been donning varied and interesting roles. In 'Kokki' he played a na¯ve rustic simpleton who could be easily taken for a ride. 'Karupusami Kuthagaitharar' saw him play a small-time business man and in 'Thee Nagar' he portrayed the character of a student leader. In 'Kathavarayan' he donned an expressive role of an illicit liquor baron.
In his next flick titled 'Arthanari' Karan would be seen playing a transgender person. The film is to be directed by Nandha Periyasamy who had churned out the Arya starrer 'Oru Kalloriyin Kadhai'.
Karan seems pretty happy to play the challenging role of a transgender person. 'Gone are the days when transgender people were shown in poor light in films. Movie audiences have begun to understand and respect these people. 'Arthanari' would help a lot in making people understand a lot about these people' said Karan.
