Karthi who is currently busy with Mani Ratnam's Kaatru Veliyidai will be teaming up with director H. Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame for a new film. This film will have Karthi playing a cop and Rakul Preet Singh is signed to play the female lead. All the while there was no update regarding the film's title, but now the official confirmation from the team has come saying that this action cop drama will be called as 'Dheeran: Adhigaram Ondru'. 'Maya' fame Sathyan Sooryan will handle the cinematography for this film, while Dhilip Subbarayan and Kathir will take care of the stunt and art departments respectively. S.R.Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures will be funding this project, for which, the shoot is expected to start from the first week of January 2017. Going by the title, one might have this question if the team is planning to make this film as a franchise with sequels (Adhigaram Irandu, Adhigaram Moondru, etc) depicting the life of a policeman.
