M3V (Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai) calls itself Tamil Cinema's first 'Metro Movie'. So what is a 'Metro Movie' all about? The makers of the film say that all facets of life in a metropolitan city captured with abundance of realism is what the film will be all about. The hitherto considered conventional city of Chennai is going through a tremendous transformation in terms of modernity.
To capture the changing lifestyle of Chennaiites, around one hundred new faces who have had no experience in acting have been roped in to do the film. 'The way the characters behave, their speech, the kind of costumes they wear, the way the characters handle their relationships, their work culture... everything is metro...very urban', says the director Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam.
'Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai' has been shot in over 50 real locations in Chennai and narrates a plethora of incidents including the lives of school dropouts to evergreen personalities who were photographed with Albert Einstein.
Even the dubbing part is being done by these raw amateurs. The film would not have the usual kind of characters like heroes and villains but will showcase life as it really happens.
Will a 'Metro Movie' find favor with the masses? We'll know when M3V is released.
