Yesteryear blockbuster 'Ulagam Sutrum Valiban' starring MGR is all set to revisit theaters in grand style. MGR himself produced the film in 1973 and played dual roles in it. Manjula featured as the heroine. Music was scored by M.S.Viswanathan and the movie went on to become a tremendous hit. The songs and quite a number of scenes were shot abroad in places such as Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Thailand.
To compete with contemporary films and to showcase it to modern audiences the film is being digitized to bring about cinemascope viewing. The songs are being converted to the DTS format and the climax stunt scenes are being spiced up with computer generated imagery and special effects. The film is set for release in October with 50 prints.
The whole idea has been conceptualized by Diamond films and plans are on to do the same technical enhancements for the classics 'Nadodi Mannan' and 'Adimai Penn'. It sure will be refreshing to see these films storm theaters as fresh theatrical releases.
