Political equations in Tamil Nadu kept changing rapidly following the death of Jayalalithaa. AIADMK Lawmakers and Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam preferred Sasikala for the post of party's General Secretary. But, A section of leaders and people were supportive of Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar.
If the political buzz is true by any chance, A new political party with the name 'Amma AIADMK' is going to be floated in Tamil Nadu very soon.
To recall, Tamil superstar MG Ramachandran walked out of DMK following differences with Karunanidhi and floated AIADMK. After his demise, His wife Janaki took over the reins of the party and became Tamil Nadu CM. She, however, failed to lead the party from the front. Within two years, Jayalalithaa took AIADMK under her control and no one dared to challenge her thereafter. Post her death, There is again talk about her successor. While AIADMK Leaders support Sasikala Natarajan, Deepa Jayakumar claims to be the true successor of her aunt. She openly declared that she is willing to be Amma's successor if people support her. Will she float a new political party any time soon or wait till 2020 Assembly polls?
