Priya Raman, a once popular heroine in Kollywood, will make her debut in small screen with a mega-serial to be telecast in a prominent Tamil channel beginning Monday.
Priya Raman, who married actor Ranjith, had acted in a few tele-serials in Malayalam earlier.
Girija, directed by Arundhavaraja would be aired in a popular television channel beginning 4 December starring Priya Raman in the title role.
Says Priya Raman, 'After marriage, I decided to stay away from acting and involved myself in producing movies. But I got a few offers to act in Malayalam serials.'
On doing a Tamil serial, she says, 'The prominent production house AVM approached me to do the role. Moreover, Arundhavaraja narrated a gripping storyline to me. I felt this could be a nice platform to re-launch myself in Tamil.'
Girija is targeted at womenfolk. It would have all ingredients to attract them, says the director.
