Producer-distributor-turned-hero Udhayanidhi has said that producing and releasing a film in today’s context is a ‘huge challenge’.
Udhayanidhi’s Manithan, which released in theatres on 29th April, has been doing reasonably well at the box-office. His performance as an actor has been lauded by a few. Expressing his pleasure at the appreciation, Udhayanidhi has said that he is ready to take on any role including that of a cop if the script is suitable for his style of acting.
“After Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Manithan has got me good reviews from critics and fans. Even my father liked my performance in the film. The State Govt. has denied tax exemption to the film stating that the title is not a ‘pure Tamil word’ which is only a sign of bias shown by the rulers. I fought for tax exemption for Gethu and would so so in respect of Manithan too.
“If I get a good scripts, I’m even ready to play a cop in a film. In today’s scenario, it has been becoming increasingly difficult to produce and release films,” Udhayanithi said.
