Veteran lyricist Valee, who has penned several thousand songs for the past four decades, underwent heart surgery at a private hospital in Chennai.
The numero uno lyricist of Tamil cinema has worked with three generation of artistes ' right from MGR till Dhanush.
Valee complained of chest pain recently and was immediately taken to a private hospital. He was urged to undergo a heart operation. The operation was performed on Monday and Valee is reportedly recovering well.
He would be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
