Ilayathalapathy Vijay's yet to be titled 60th film is progressing as per the plan, targeting a 2017 Pongal release. The film's shooting is expected to be completed by the first week of October.
However sources reveal that well before the completion of the film directed by Bharathan, its theatrical release rights in Kerala state has been grabbed by a prominent distributor.
It is learnt that a distribution firm IFAR has bagged the Kerala rights of 'Vijay 60' for Rs.6.25 crores. This is reportedly the biggest ever price for a Vijay film in Kerala and also the third biggest after 'Baahubali 2' (Rs.10.5 crores) and Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' (Rs.7.5 crores).
This news is based on the information received from a source and not official. But given Vijay's immense popularity in Kerala, there is no wonder in such a big price being offered for his film.
