Singer Vishal Dadlani fell into controversy after making bold remarks about Jain monk Tarun Sagar who addressed the assembly of Haryana’s lawmakers on Friday. The singer took to Twitter to make his statement that the monk’s speech was an indication of religion entering politics. He also faced flak for having called Maharishi’s speech as ‘Monkery’.
After facing widespread criticism, and a FIR being filed against him for hurting the religious sentiments of the people of Haryana, Vishal apologised publicly to the monk and Jain community through Twitter. “I apologise again, to the Jain Community, & all others offended. But I beg you all not to support religion in governance, for India's sake.” He said. Meanwhile, it is being reported that Maharishi Tarun Sagar has accepted his apologies.
