Vivek plays a fisherman called Kingfisher in the Shaam starrer 'Anthony Yaar'. He appears just as MGR did in the yesteryear classic 'Padakoti'.
According to director Pandi, ''Anthony Yaar' featuring Shaam in the lead role, is an engrossing tale. Vivek is at his best in comedy sequences and moreover his comedy is part of the story itself'.
Speaking about the movie, Pandi says, 'We shot a few important scenes on the shores of the Uvari village in Tirunelveli district and created a fishermen's hamlet'.
After playing a soft hero in his earlier movies, Shaam ventures to do a rough-and-tough fisherman's role in 'Anthony Yaar'. The movie is being produced by C Vijayakumar for Annam Films International and is directed by C T Pandi. Mallika Kapoor plays Shaam's heroine.
Dheena has scored the music while Santonia has cranked the camera. Actor Silambarasan has sung a number for Shaam.
The rest of the cast includes Rajesh, Prem Shankar, Venniradai Murthy, Pragathy among others.
Pandi says, ' 'Anthony Yaar'? is a full length commercial entertainer. Plans are on to release the film next month'.
