Now that Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri is declared a blockbuster, director Atlee might start working on its sequel. Theri 2, if materializes, will have Vijay's daughter Divya playing his on-screen daughter. Theri (U): Book Your Tickets Right Away! Though Divya was seen in Theri, she will play a full-fledged role in the sequel. In the first part, Divya just makes a brief appearance on screen.
Atlee had reportedly penned the script of Theri 2 much before the release of its prequel. "The second part will revolve around actor Vijay and his relationship with his daughter, who will, to keep the continuity alive, be more grown up. Vijay's real-life daughter, Divya, will play his reel-life daughter in the sequel, too," a source close to the star actor had told a leading daily. Atlee too, had revealed that Theri 2 is likely to happen as he had the script ready.
But the young film-maker was apprehensive about it as he was not sure how Theri will be received by the audiences. He had also said that he will decide on Theri 2 based on the success of Theri. Since Theri is a superhit now, collecting well over 150 Crore rupees worldwide, Atlee might work with the Kaththi star yet again. In fact, chances are Theri 2 might go on floors right after the completion of Vijay's next.
Talking about Vijay's next, the second schedule of Vijay 60, the star actor's upcoming film to be directed by Bharathan, begins today (May 3rd). According to a report, Vijay's introduction song will be shot in this schedule. Dance choreographer Dinesh has been assigned the task of making the song enjoyable with cool dance moves. While Keerthy Suresh is already on board, speculations are rife that the film might have another actress, playing an important role. Actress Aparna Vinod is said to have been roped into the project. Official confirmation regarding the same is awaited from the team of Vijay 60.
