Actor-turned-politician K Chiranjeevi is set to don the greasepaint after seven years as the superstar has decided to launch his 150th film.
Puri Jagannadh will direct the film to be launched on the actor's 60th birthday on August 22.
This was confirmed on Monday by Jagnndh and Chiranjveei's actor son Ram Charan Teja, who will produce the movie.
Jagan, as Jagannadh is popularly known, was excited over the development. "Who would have thought that a person who once used to decorate theaters for Chiranjeevi's films will direct him in his 150th film," the director tweeted.
Ram Charan also confirmed that Jagan will be the director of the much-awaited film.
Chiranjeevi, one of the most popular actors in the history of Telugu cinema, had quit films to enter politics in 2008. He launched Prajarajyam Party in 2008 but unlike his blockbuster movies the outfit's electoral debut in 2009 proved a disaster.
In 2011, Chiranjeevi merged Prajarajyam with the Congress. He was subsequently nominated to Rajya Sabha and was made a central minister.
Chiranjeevi, who started his career with "Punadirallu" in 1978, still has sizable following in both the Telugu states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
