The summer has started. The exams have arrived. Tollywood is also sweating.
The month of March, despite some heavy-duty audio launches, may not see much of big film releases.
This is for obvious reasons. No producer will want to take a risk and release his movie when the students are busy preparing for their exams.
Youths are the biggest market now, says Vikram Rao, a distributor. Most of the movies are made with them in mind. But with them being busy with the exams, no major movie release can be expected this month. Only those films with family subjects may get to release, he adds.
In the event, Ugadi will be the next pit stop for Tollywood biggies for big-ticket releases. Till then, it is carry on remakes and dubbed ventures.
