Sr NTR portrayed many historical characters in his glorious career. He, however, missed reprising the role of Satavahana ruler Satakarni for reasons unknown.
Director Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi finds a logic behind it. He says, 'NTR played historical characters like Samrat and Ashok. He actually thought of doing Satakarni as well but shelved the project. May be, NTR spared 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' for the sake of his son and successor Balakrishna'.
The Sensible Filmmaker feels blessed to bag an opportunity to make 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' as Balayya's 100th movie. 'Satakarni is the great warrior. I couldn't imagine anyone except Balayya to play the role when I penned the script. He got into the skin of the character so well. Emotional scenes of Balakrishna-Hema Malini-Shriya has come out well. I can assure you that 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni' is a great movie,' declares Krish.
'Gautamiputra Satakarni' is likely to be the first biggie to hit the screens in 2017.
