Rohit Shetty's 'Golmaal' is ready for a big release this Friday. And with the amount of buzz it has managed to create, the trade had been expecting it to do very well at the Box Office. But with the earth-shattering bomb blasts in the city, is there any chance of people desisting from going to the movie theatres? 'I don't think so.
Today itself, life is back to normalcy in Mumbai. Friday is still a couple of days away. 'Golmaal' is a solo release, its promos are good and I think it should take a good opening,' says Komal Nahta, editor Film Information.
This year's big hits have been 'Fanaa' and 'Krrish' but coming from big banners with established star cast it was not much of a surprise. But it's the humungous success of 'Phir Hera Pheri' that has totally changed the economics in Bollywood. Earlier films from big banners earned huge price while the smaller producers had to settle for a smaller share in the pie.
The situation today is that two films 'Golmaal' and 'Omkaara' have brokered amazing deals in the wake of first week success of 'Phir Hera Pheri'.
'Golmaal' has fetched Rs 11 crores for its Indian Theatrical release while 'Omkaara' has a booty of Rs 13 crores on its head. If they do a business of Rs 18 and Rs 21 crore respectively then they would be considered losers. These are interesting times for Bollwyood, which is enjoying a never-before Bull run.
