Tamil filmmaker Bhagyaraja had very long ago acquired the southern remake rights of Kangana Ranaut's critically acclaimed commercial hit Bollywood film 'Queen'. Ever since, we have been bombarded with various names ranging from Nayanthara to Anushka and Trisha to Samantha but there was a lot of confusion. Now, an official confirmation has come from the horse' mouth itself.
Bhagyaraja who is currently shooting for a Telugu film in Hyderabad, interacted with media and divulged that four different heroines will reprise the lead role in 'Queen' remake, one in each south language.
'Tamanna for Tamil, Amala Paul for Malayalam and Parul Yadav for Kannada versions have been finalized but no actress for the Telugu version has been zeroed in yet,' he divulged.
He added that Amy Jackson will essay the characters of heroine's friend (essayed by Lisa Haydon in the Bollywood version) in all the four south languages.
'Anish Kuruvilla for Telugu, Revathi for Tamil and Malayalam and Prakash Raj for Kannada remakes have been signed as directors,' he further confirmed.
We have number of heroines who are popular in the entire south but it seems that Bhagyaraja wanted different heroines for each language.
