Mahesh Bhatt is at his best when he Looks-Within. 'Arth', 'Janam' and 'Zakhm' continue to remain his best works till date as they spoke about his personal life. He is pushing the envelope once again with 'Woh Lamhe' which is a semi autobiographical account of his intimate relationship with actress Parveen Babi who passed away last year. Bhatt in a freewheeling account of his relationship with Babi in a tabloid had recently admitted how jealous he felt when Parveen was being wooed by a superstar.
He also said that the relationship was sexual in nature and maybe because of that the hurt was even more.
Mahesh was one of the very few who was present at the funeral ceremony of Parveen last year. He never shied away from admitting that Babi suffered from Schizophrenia and was difficult to deal with. Somehow he seems to have made a perfect casting in 'Gangster' Maul Kangana Ranaut for playing Babi. Other than having somewhat similarity in terms of drop-dead-gorgeous looks, Kangana is also exuding that raw sexual vulnerability that made Parveen so appealing.
Shiney Ahuja is also cast perfectly for playing Bhatt himself as his brooding intensity reeks of a smouldering volcano that can burst any time.
The promo of 'Woh Lamhe', directed by Mohit Suri ('Zeher' and 'Kalyug') accounts for a stylishly shot film that has a haunting track playing in the background. It seems the music of the film will be better than their last outing 'Killer'. People have a lot of expectations from Bhatt camp music and it has been one of the main reasons in their success. In the 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', 'Don', 'Jaaneman' and 'Umrao Jaan' of the world, 'Woh Lamhe' may prove to be a dark horse and emerge a winner at the Box Office. After all, the public is ready for the 'different' ind of cinema.
