Mashhoor Amrohi, the grandson of the legendary director of yesteryear`s Bollywood film industry, Kamal Amrohi, is all set to make his debut in the industry, as an actor-director-scriptwriter, very soon.
Kamal Amrohi has the credit of making some of the evergreen films like Pakeezah and Razia Sultan and Mashhoor has taken adequate preparations before stepping into his grandfather's shoes. Mashhoor's film is named as Hum Sey Hai Jahaan and he has done the jobs of an actor, script writer and director in the film.
While talking about his first project in the Bollywood film industry and also about the risk factor involved in it, as he has done three jobs at a time, Mashhoor said confidently, "If I wasn't sure of my capabilities in even one of the areas, I wouldn't be taking such a big risk. I`m saying this objectively, with all humility, I think I`ve done justice to all the three quarters".
Talking about his aims before entering the film industry, Mashhoor said, "I always wanted to be an actor. And after writing the script for Hum Sey..., I felt I had to direct it too. I could envisage each scene, and I wanted the final product to come out in exactly the same manner. I was too close to the script to let anybody else envision it in their way. So I decided to don the director's cap as well".
Debuting With Hum Sey Hai Jahaan, Mashhoor was also talking about the other cast in the film and informed that he cast Vishakha Singh as the film's lead actress. He said, "It was a deliberate choice. That way, the audience has no preconceived notions. The viewer does not need to make a visual adjustment. Plus it also creates a buzz, it adds a certain freshness to the film".
He was also looking to have clear conceptions about his own abilities, as he said, "That I can do all three things is not my USP, it's my ability. I see myself as a complete entertainer, and clich©d as it may sound; the only competition I see is myself. People will approach me because I am good, not because others are bad!".
He further said, "Right now, Hum Sey... is all I am focusing on. Let's see how the film goes, I'll decide my future then".
