Reknowned writer Manohar Shyam Joshi who wrote TV serials like 'Hum Log' and 'Buniyad' is no more. He died around 5 am today at the National Heart Institute, New Delhi after he was admitted a few days ago due to complains of chest pain and uneasiness. He was 73.
More than a couple of decades back, he brought a revolution to the television industry as he came up with the first ever soaps on the Indian small screen - 'Hum Log' and 'Buniyaad'. He also went on to write many more popular TV serials like Kakaji Kahin, Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne and Zameen Aasmaan.
A Sahitya Akademi award winner, he also had an occasional stint with the movies as he worked on distinct subjects for movies like Hey! Ram, Papa Kahte Hain, Appu Raja and Bhrashtachar.
