The ambitious venture of producer Anekal Balaraj 'Kempa', featuring his son Santosh for the first time has completed shooting in 85 days. Started in 2007 February, 'Kempa' (earlier it was Golla) is slated for February 2008 release.
Anekal Balaraj starts another film on the day of the release of 'Kempa'. The new film ('Janma') too will have his son Santosh.
Explaining the pains and pleasures of making this film, director Jagadish said he shot for this film in all the four states of South India. The film starts from Gopinaththam, the place where fugitive Veerppan lived. The climax was shot in Mysore. Two songs were shot at Kulu Manali in the zero degree temperature.
Former commissioner of police L. Revannaiah Siddaiah plays an important role for the first time in this film. Actress Ruchita Prasad plays a journalist.
Debutant actor and producer Anekal Balaraj's son Santosh disclosed that he had to remain in the Central Jail for two days in the midst of actual criminals to capture the reality for a particular scene. The film is now at the DTS stage and DI grading will be made for the film.
Tanushika makes debut in this film as heroine. Avinash, Shakeela, Ruchita Prasad, Pratap Singh Rawat, Pragna are also in the cast.
