Actress-turned-businesswoman Shilpa Shetty Kundra who became a household name in the UK, thanks to her successful stint on television show Big Brother, to date, continues to remain extremely popular not just with the NRI crowd in London but also with the locals.
Sources close to the actress reveal, that Shilpa has been approached by a London apparel chain, to open her signature store in London for her brand SSK Sarees, that are now sold in India.
Now that Shilpa’s designs are available in several Indian markets, she is planning to expand her business across international shores. Shilpa has been working out the logistics of the store while in London recently on her month-long break.
Says a source, "Shilpa who spends a lot of time in London, understands how huge the demand for an Indian apparel segment is there. Indian clothes and accessories are a huge rage in the UK and when approached with the idea of opening an SSK store there she was open to explore the opportunity. She is currently in the process of finalizing the deal ,however,a formal announcement will be made only in December this year".
