Hyderabad: Welcoming Union Home Minister Chidambaram's statements on the Telangana issue, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said all stakeholders should now cooperate to facilitate the formation of a separate state.
"... The Centre made a clear statement on Thursday. We welcome this. This is a new year gift to the Telangana people," he told reporters here.
Dismissing the charge of "flip-flop" on the part of Centre on Telangana issue, Chidambaram said in Delhi that the January 5 meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh is to devise a "mechanism and roadmap" on resolving the problem.
Rao claimed that majority opinion among the eight political parties invited by Centre for the meeting is in favour of a separate Telangana.
"Congress said its stand is clear and that it was mentioned in their manifesto. It also sought the cooperation of other parties.
