Director, Animal Husbandry Sindh Dr. Abdullah Mewati has informed the livestock owners & farmers about the possibilities of spreading of the contagious diseases in large animals (cattle & buffaloes) as well as small animal (sheep & goat) from April 2012 to June 2012 advising them to get their animals vaccinated against the contagious diseases from the nearby veterinary hospitals & dispensaries.
According to a press release issued here cattle & buffaloes could suffer from diseases like Hemorrhagic Septicemia, Black Quarter (BQ) and Foot & Mouth. While the small animals like sheep & goat could suffer from the diseases like Entero Toxemia, Foot & Mouth, Sheep Pox, Peste de Pestitis Ruminants (PPR) & Anthrax.
It has been further advised to the owners of the livestock that if they find symptoms like High Temperature, difficulty in breathing, off feed, lameness & vesicles on tongue in the animals they should immediately consult the doctors in nearby veterinary hospitals & dispensaries.
