Dhanush's highly anticipated gangster drama Vada Chennai has finally gone on the floors and the makers have commenced principal shooting. One of the highlights of the project was Samantha playing the leading lady and teaming up with Vetrimaaran for the first time.
However, rumour has it that Samantha is no longer part of the project and is said to have backed out due to her impending engagement ceremony to actor Naga Chaitanya. While the couple are yet to officially announce about their relationship, it is believed that Samantha opted out of Vada Chennai since she's expected to shoot nearly for a year for all the three parts.
Vada Chennai, about 30 years in the life of a gangster, also stars Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji and Andrea in important roles. The film is being produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
