Kannigapuram near Kancheepuram is Na. Muthukumar's native place. His father Nagarajan, who passed away recently, was working as a Tamil teacher in Government higher secondary school in Kannigapuram. He was a voracious reader and a passionate collector of books.
Nagarajan had collected the first copies of more than 5000 books and periodicals in Tamil and English. The total number of the books stored in his personal library would be around one lakh.
The lyricist has planned to bring those books to Chennai and create a library here. He has also planned to lend these books free of cost to the patients who have to stay for a long time in the hospitals.
The shrewd young poet pretty well knows that noble thoughts would be useful only when they are backed by relevant actions. So he has planned to employ some youngsters to implement the idea of lending the books to the patients.
Kudos to Muthukumar, an ardent reader himself, who is paying his father a fitting tribute by such plans to spread the habit of reading among the people.
