'Marmayogi', Kamal Haasan's next venture would be launched on July 13, exactly a month after the release of 'Dasavatharam'. Kamal Haasan seems to be eyeing the Hindi market and probably that is the reason the movie is going to be launched at the Grand Hotel in Mumbai.
The master actor's movies such as 'Ek Thuje Keliye', 'Hindusthani' ('Indian') and 'Chachi 420' ('Avvai Shanmugi') were runaway successes in the North. Despite these hits, the actor had to face failures in the form of 'Hey Ram' and 'Abey' ('Aalavanthan'). 'Dasavatharam' is expected to do very well in Hindi and the actor probably wants to back it up with a good showing with 'Marmayogi' as well. The movie would be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
Kamal Haasan having written the story and screenplay would also direct the film. Pyramid Saimira International will be producing the movie and have awarded Kamal Haasan the production rights on a first copy basis. It would be interesting to see how the expenses of the movie turn out. There is a general perception in the film industry that Kamal Haasan creative mind 'thinks' expensive.
Would his creative mind still 'think' expensive with him as the producer on a first copy basis? We'll have to wait and see. But knowing the man's passion for filmmaking, one gets a gut feeling it really wouldn't alter his mindset.
'Marmayogi' is expected to be a historic adventure film with the best of technicians and artistes. Actress Kajol has been approached for a role in the film and A. R. Rahman will be scoring music.
