OK Kanmani’s official Hindi remake, Ok Jaanu’s trailer is out. The cast of the film includes Aditya Roy Kapur playing Dulquer’s role and Shraddha Kapoor reprising Nithya Menen’s role. When the casting of a film is done right, half the battle is won for the director. This pair of Aditya and Shraddha is tailor made for this love story which is evident in the romantic sequences in the trailer and they have already showed us their amazing chemistry in Aashiqui 2. Also, smart move by director Shaad Ali to have included Naseeruddin Shah here as it adds experience to the film’s cast.
OK Kanmani’s biggest plus point was A.R.Rahman’s music and in OK Jaanu too, he has been retained. The trailer has the Hindi version of Mental Manadhil playing throughout and the visuals are beautiful. Ravi K Chandran’s cinematography looks very grandeur yet apt in the trailer. Sreekar prasad’s edit is brilliant as ever and adds to the trailer cut’s beauty.
The trailer has a lot of unchanged sequences from the original and that seems like a good move too. It looks close to the original version with a tinge of the Hindi casting and the director Shaad Ali’s touch. On the whole, OK Jaanu looks like a treat to those who loved OK Kanmani and has a promising cast and crew to back up Mani Ratnam’s hit film stature.
