Of late, Kollywood is taking the Telugu market very seriously. Such is the potential of the Telugu market that, when promoted well, a Tamil film can get as stunning collections in AP and Telangana as it does in Tamil Nadu.
Iru Mugan, the Vikram-starring sci-fi flick, will be released in Telugu on the same day as the Tamil version will hi the marquee - on September 5. Directed by Anand Shankar (who directed the original version of Manchu Vishnu's Dynamite), this one has Nayanathara and Nithya Menen playing the female leads. There are two heroines apparently because Vikram is playing a double-faced character.
The news is that, with the intention of cashing in on the popularity that the lead members have in the Telugu States, the makers of Iru Mugan have decided to release the Telugu version's teaser in SIIMA Awards function to be held in Singapore (today and tomorrow). The title of the Telugu version, too, will be announced there.
The film has music by Harris Jayaraj.
