Dry spell at Box Office is continuing as the summer is completed. These two months space like June end to August will be generally dull every year with students going back to school and Monsoon beginning to cool the temperatures. However when we analyze this summer’s surprising films, we come across only four. Among them two were shocking hits and two were eye-opening flops.
‘A… Aa’ from Trivikram Srinivas, Nithin and Samanta was received to positive talk on day one. But, none thought about this entertaining movie to reach near Rs.50 Crores mark, a remarkable achievement. ‘Bichagadu’ from Vijay Anthony in Sasi direction was an underdog. This Tamil to Telugu dubbing movie nearing Rs. 20 Crores milestone is just astonishing. Telugu producers bought the movie’s overall dubbing rights at just Rs. 50 Lakhs. Though 'Sarrainodu, Supreme' also does well but aren't real revelations like the above two.
Onto the flop bombs, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’ fought with each other to bag the worst possible ratings and revenues. At a time when two big stars showed their spine, two relatively small and medium movies sparkled at Box Office proving that content, entertainment matters for our audience.
