Parineeti Chopra, who has been in the news for her transition from chubby to svelte, was recently signed as the face of a sugar substitute brand. And if sources are to be believed, the actress was contending with Sonakshi Sinha for the endorsement deal and eventually bagged it by reducing her fee by a crore.
A source says, "Parineeti and Sonakshi were in the race to be roped in as the brand's new face. Both of them have undergone drastic physical transformation following a disciplined workout routine and healthier life choices. So, it was tough to choose between the two. However, Pari made it easier for the brand by reducing her fee."
It is said that Sonakshi was first offered the deal, but her asking price was apparently a bit too steep — Rs 4 crore. "Talks were on with Sonakshi and later we approached Parineeti, who decided to do it for Rs 3 crore. That's why we went ahead and signed her," a source close to the brand says.
Sonakshi remained unavailable for comment while Parineeti's spokesperson says, "It is not true. Parineeti was paid her market rate and in fact, this is one of her biggest endorsement deals. However, as a policy, we do not discuss remuneration figures."
