While the release of 'Dhoom II', a sequel to 'Dhoom' is still a few months away, the spoof of the film has been made in quick time and is now ready for release today.
A MTV production, 'GHOOM' (as the film is called) bears a similar storyline as the original with the same characters but presented in a lighter vein. The lead roles immortalized by Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol and Rimmi Sen are played by television actors Sumeet Raghvan, Ajay Gehi, Gaurav Chopra, Purbi Joshi and Benika Deepak respectively.
The leading ladies have a special role to play in the film as Benika, who plays Rimmi's character in the film, is titled Tweety and boasts of little-or-no-brains'n'clothes while Purbi jives to a different version of 'Dhoom' that is titled 'Jhoom'!
The film sees a selective release by INOX and arrives on an experimental basis since it is the first of its kind on Indian screens. The people behind the film are confident though about the film's success as they feel that it is a new idea that may just click with the audience. And if all goes well, expect spoofs of two more superhit films to arrive this year from MTV!
