Nirmal Pandey well known for his realistic performances in films like Bandit Queen, Godmother and Daarya, plans to debut as a director based on a burning problem of the country- Naxalism.
Though he is directing plays for a longer period of time, takes on the big screen with a subject that is close to his hearts.
Dhari Ki Katha talks about the lack of development in villages where basic needs and amenities are refused to the inhabitants.
He also suggests that few have been dealt with these themes and Bollywood has to divert from just making regular 'masalas'.
Shooting of the film is going on in Maharashtra and Karnataka and students from National School of Drama play various roles.
