OMT travels to Cannes; explores business opportunities

One More Thought Entertainment, a film production company launched by Azam Khan and Parvez Damania is just three months young and is already gearing up to be a part of the Cannes Film Festival 2008, scheduled for 14-25 May.

OMT team (Azam Khan and Parvez Damania) are preparing to go to Cannes so that they can explore new business opportunities for their company which is set to produce as many as eighteen films in the next two years.

"There is no business like the show business. We have a team of about Nine directors working on different movies. Cannes, I think is a great occasion where we can meet like-minded and more importantly talented professionals from the entertainment world. Exchange of ideas and information at Cannes will prove to be a fundamental step in taking OMT and its projects to a greater height. We hope to attract international buyers," says Azam Khan, CEO, OMT Entertainment.

OMT's first film 'Tingya' (Marathi) has already won critical acclaim at various festivals. Its second project 'Khalbali Hai Khalbali' is on the floor while its third project 'Dasvidaniya' in its production stage.

"In a few months time now, we will have back-to-back releases. As a progressive entity, we need to discover the best of trade possibilities not just nationally but internationally as well. What can be better than exploring the Cannes Film Festival which is one of the world's oldest, prestigious and most influential film festivals," states Parvez Damania, Executive Director, OMT Entertainment.

Also traveling with them are Jagmohan Mundhra, a noted director and Mr. Farukh Dhondy, and International personality and writer of movies, one of which is Mangal Pandey .

At the launch of OMT Entertainment, nine directors were signed & twelve movies were announced. Today the count has gone to 18 movies with over four films on the floor at various stages of completion. These are Khalbali Hai Khalbali, Phoonk, Raksha and now Dasvidaniya.

Other six films are in pre-production stage which include projects by Sangeeth Sivan, Jagmohan Mundhra, Ashwini Chaudhary, Ravi Rai and Mahesh Kothare. Out of these four films are scheduled go on floor in next three months time. OMTE is all set to release in theatres at least FOUR films by year end. RGV's PHOONK and RAKSHA in Sept, KHALBALI HAI KHALBALI in October and DASVIDAANIYA in November 08. .
