In recent times no main stream film maker in Bollywood might have been as successful as Madhur Bhandarkar in creating an original film making style of his own.
After the three National Awards, he has now been honoured with the PRIDE OF INDIA award.
The award is given by the All India Anti Terrorist Front.
Madhur getting this award given by a respected organization working for communal harmony and peace speaks a lot about the way in which the people in the country see him not only as a film maker but also as an agent of change.
The award was given in a function on August 9 at New Delhi by Mr. Maninderjit Singh Bitta, the chairman of All India Anti Terrorist Front (AIATF).
Speaking at the occasion, Madhur Bhandarkar said that he is very glad to be considered for the honour.
He said that through his movie he shows what happens in the society and does not try to find solutions. Sometimes there could be a solution and sometimes just the opposite.
This film maker has now reached a stage where just his name in the poster as the director is enough to attract film lovers who know Madhur never has disappointed them with sub standard flicks and his name can carry off a film without any major stars presence.
