Saroj Khan is a living legend. No questions about that. She is the numero uno choreographer in the Hindi Film Industry commanding an unbelievable respect from film makers as well as biggest of stars. She is definitely a big reason behind the mega success of Madhuri Dixit and Sri Devi in becoming superstars. Her dance movements carry a graceful style that very few could match. The minimalistic dance steps and shrug of shoulders by Aamir Khan in 'Chaand Sifarish' in 'Fanaa' is a case in point.
Saroj Khan herself admits that she got visual recognition when she starred as the Judge at the super hit dance show 'Nach Baliye' on Star One. Her inputs were listened with great interest, while her hundred rupee notes were cherished by the likes of Rajeshwari Sachdeva, Poonam Narula and Sachin. Saroj Khan is back in 'Nach Baliye 2' with an unusual getup for the promos that hit TV channels today. She is dressed like Gabbar Singh with the trademark belt etc. Khan also had a stint with acting recently in Naseeruddin Shah's 'Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota' where she plays Irfan Khan's mother. Even in a brief appearance, she left an imprint.
