Senior popular song recordist Satish Sawant who made history when he recorded a SYNC song (no dubbing) with single mike and simple Nagra machine in Bangalore for M S Sathyu’s under production Kanada film “Ijjodiu” met with a sudden death. He was 58.
On 26th of Feb, he had a massive heart attack in his sleep, next morning his family members found him dead.
In the field as a sound recorder since 1971, Satish Sawant was regular for Balaji Tele Films, A K Productions, S M Abbas and M S Sathyu. He had also worked with Shekhar Kapur, David Dhawan, Syed Mirza and Aroona Irani.
Satish Sawant is survived his wife, son, sister and elder brother Dilip Sawant, who is also in same profession.
