Heart throb Upen Patel, who is presently in South Africa shooting for Suneel Darshan's Shakalaka Boom Boom, can't stop raving about Bobby Deol. Upen Patel plays the role of a rock star in this stylish film. He has just finished his first day of shoot with Bobby and they both are already getting along like a house on fire.
Says Upen, "Bobby is such a genuine guy. You can't help but like him. He is extremely helpful to me. He has been patiently rehearsing at length with me. In fact he has been giving me pointers on intense scenes. He is completely unselfish as an actor. He is more than willing to let the other person take over if need be. He doesn't try to hog the frame!"
In fact Upen is also full on praise of Bobby as an actor. "I was in shock'he is such an under-rated actor. I was completely blown over by his intense scenes. Right now I'm suffering from a 'Bobby complex'. He is so talented and yet he hates showing off. It's gonna be a real challenge even if I perform even half of his caliber", he says with all honesty!
It seems like Upen can't get enough Bobby. But Upen also seems to be aware that he has to put his best effort. "I will be putting my best effort for this film. I understand that there were critical reviews for my debut film. But it was a learning process and I have paid heed to it. This film will answer all my critics. I am so thankful to Suneel Darshan for giving me this platform to showcase my capabilities. He is such an actor's director and taps the potential so very well. I'm so thankful to him for giving me this opportunity and reposing that faith in me. I must deliver", he quips with a matter fact.
While Upen understands and is upfront about answering his critics, he has already been offered big banner films and he would like to prove his mettle as an actor in these films.
After finishing the schedule in South Africa, Upen will be flying to his home town for the shoot of Vipul Shah's 'Namaste London'. Says Upen wistfully, "It will definitely will be a virtual homecoming for me. I just can't wait to see my near and dear ones. But till then I will be putting my best effort for 'SHAKALAKA BOOM BOOM'!"
