What Coach Anil Kumble shared in 1st Press Meet?

Team India's newly appointed head coach Anil Kumble addressed the media for the first time after he took up the responsibility.

The Leg-Spinner is hopeful that his experience as a player and captain will come in handy while coaching Team India. He informs, Major focus will be on Test Cricket as India plays 7 Tests in a row. He wishes to focus on ODIs and T20s later.

When quizzed about Ravi Shastri's displeasure on the selection process, Kumble clarified there is no conflict of interest what-so-ever. He even claims to be the first person to call Ravi Shastri after being appointed as Coach and feels he did great job as Team India Director in the past. 'Whether its Me or Ravi, We want Indian Cricket to succeed in all the three formats,' he added.

After his appointment, Anil Kumble has spoken to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli at length about the future plans. He makes it clear, 'Captain will take all the calls, I'm here to assist him'.

Kumble feels Young Indian Side has upped the Fielding standards and the blend of experience and youth is good sign. She discloses Ishant Sharma will lead the bowlers in the Test Series against West Indies.
