Madata Kaaja Review

Story

Kalyan (Allari Naresh) lives in Vizag working as a police informer. He comes across Swapna (Sneha Ullal) and falls for her and very sooner, wins her love as well. Two gangsters KP (Ahuthi Prasad) and JP (Jayaprakash Reddy) are rivals but the duo works for an International don Nanda (Asish Vidhyardhi) who carries out illegal activities. To reduce the rivalry between KP and Jp, Nanda comes up with a proposal of wedlock between JP’s son Ajay (Subbaraju) and KP’s daughter Swapna. After a few sequences, Kalyan steps into KP’s home as JP’s son and starts his game. How does Kalyan reveal KP, JP and Nanda’s illegal activities and how he enters wedlock with ladylove is the crux of the story

Performances

Madatha Kaja is just like cakewalk to Allari Naresh as the actor has done similar kind of roles many times. He is great in his comic timing and hilarious acts.

Sneha Ullal looked gorgeous and she is an asset for the film taking into consideration of her glamour quotient however, she still needs to improve on her acting and has to work on her expressions. Subbaraju has got a good role and he delivered his best. Jayaprakash Reddy is perfect, Ahuti Prasad is convincing. Others Dharmavarapu, Ali, Raghu Babu, Chalapathi Rao did their bit as required.

Technicalities

Sri Vasanth’s music is good and the album is better than many other Naresh’s films. Cinematography is fine and a couple of songs are neatly shot in the picturesque locales of Bangkok. BGM is alright. Dialogues lacked freshness and seemed predictable. Editing is slick and neat. Seetha Rama Raju handles the subject decently with his past experiences but then he should have considered a unique script rather than this run of the mill kind. Screenplay was good in parts. Production values are okay.

Analysis

Madatha Kaja reminds you of the recent films that goes on confusion comedy. Seetharamaraju deals with it in a comical way yet the film lacks logic. Though Allari Naresh tries his maximum to cover up, few of the scenes failed to bring out the laughs. The film moves on a predictable note and this takes away the interests of the audiences. While the first half of the film moves on a slow pace with illogical scenes, it’s only the second half which picks up the momentum. At the Box-Office, Madatha Kaja might find hard to work in Dookudu race, which is doing extremely well. On the other side, Jr.NTR’s Oosaravelli too is releasing on a grand scale.

Final Verdict

An average fare
