Murugadoss currently resides in Virugambakkam, Chennai.
Career: His father was always an encouraging factor for his interest in film industry. His first attempt of trying to join the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu didn’t succeed. He started his career working as a copy-writer for writer Kalaimamani. He also worked as an assistant director with S. J. Suryah (for films like Vaali and Khushi) and Uday Shankar
After the success of Ghajini, AR Murugadoss is all set for his next project Ezham Arivu with one of the biggest production houses in the South, starring Shruti Haasan and Suriya. Music for Ezhavadhu Arivu is being scored by the ‘Suriya constant’ Harris Jeyaraj. It is a medical thriller that also stars Johnny Tri Nguyen as and evil, kung fu villain. Recently added to the cast, presumably in the role of circus ringleader/triage nurse is Guinness World Record holder for the shortest working actor, Guinness Pakru, Malayalam movie star. The latest news also suggests that Stan Winston Studios, who did extensive work on Rajinikanth's Enthiran, will be on board for special effects.
There were reports that A.R.Murugadoss has tied up with the Indian movie arm of Hollywood’s 20th Century Fox to produce films in south Indian languages. Even as there are no further updates on the association between the filmmaker and the Production Company, sources have it that Murugadoss has now decided to float a production firm on his own. The first production venture of Murugadoss will be directed by Saravanan, one of his longtime associates. It is a double hero subject and the script will be totally different, which is something new to Tamil cinema.
